Introduction

Dear Fissure Friends,

We will be updating our website and I would appreciate any feedback or ideas you might have for the initiative. Please take a moment to review the site (www.fissure.com) and provide us with your impressions and thoughts. Use (optional) the Fissure improvement approach of what's right, what would be ideal, and how do you close the gap? Any feedback will be greatly appreciated.

We mentioned in the Fissure News section of our June newsletter that we were going to be moving our office this summer (our old building is to be demolished for new development). I'm happy to report that the move was successfully completed in early August and we are now up and running at our new location:

12940 Harriet Avenue
South Suite 250
Burnsville, MN 55337

Our phone numbers have NOT changed; office - 952-882-0800, fax - 952-882-9067.

The move was successful in no small part to good project management. Being a project management training company we planned and managed the project using proven project management best practices. We broke the project into tasks, assigned the tasks, and established completion dates for each task. Having a high performing team and very capable people working on the project made the project management even easier. Everything worked very smoothly except for one task: I took on the task for switching the phones and our internet connection and it did not go well. That experience and what I learned is what I share in "The Intangibles".

Fittingly, because it directly relates to my own article, Geof talks about trust in his article entitled "Be Credible to Build Trust". When I think about trust I often think about the scene from "Remember the Titans" where Sunshine takes over as quarterback in the middle of the game. He brings the team together in the huddle, tells everyone what to do, tells them to trust him, and then he delivers everything he told them he would deliver including a "knockout" punch that builds instant trust and respect among his teammates. Geof describes this process beautifully in his article and gives you an easy process for building trust at work and at home.

Our upcoming public workshops are in the left hand panel - our computer simulation powered workshops are an effective and fun way to learn AND EARN PDUs. Make sure you also check out what's happening at Fissure (Fissure News).

Thanks for reading and have a great rest of the year,

Jesse Freese
